Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
The Green Charter is a sustainability framework established by the Optical Suppliers Association (OSA). This framework is designed to guide sustainable practices specific to the activities of optical suppliers, providing a universal benchmark to work towards.
The Green Charter is operated and managed by Opticare Innovations ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the OSA. All levels and pricing are subject to change based on national standards.
2. Adherence to Terms and Conditions
By making a payment for any level of the Green Charter, you agree to adhere to these Terms and Conditions.
3. Pricing adjustments
- The OSA reserves the right to adjust the pricing for any of the levels of the Green Charter at any time.
- New submissions made due to a first submission failing is free. Any subsequent resubmissions are charged at 50% of the fee.
- Companies resubmitting a level due to expiry will pay 50% of the current price at the time of resubmission.
4. Refunds
- 50% of the assessment fee is non-refundable.
- 50% of the fee may be refunded up until the assessment link is requested. Once the assessment link has been requested, 100% of the fee is non-refundable.
5. Progression and Completion of Levels
- Participants may progress from Acorn to Leaf.
- All other levels are designed to be applicable to business size and revenue. Progression is only expected if there is significant change to your business.
6. Assessment and Reassessment
- If you fail to provide the correct evidence or miss evidence for a question, you are allowed to resubmit evidence once under the same assessment cost.
- After the first reassessment, each subsequent reassessment will incur a cost of 50% of the initial assessment fee (see 3.2)
- Companies can mark a requirement as ‘not applicable’ for their business by uploading evidence explaining why. If over 50% of the assessment is marked as ‘not applicable’ then the OSA reserves the right to fail this assessment.
7. Certification Validity
- Acorn participants may only resubmit at Acorn level once, after that they are expected to progress to Leaf.
- Upon passing a level, your Green Charter certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of award.
- After 12 months, you must resubmit with updated evidence to maintain your certification.
- The certificate expiry will reset from the date of this reassessment.
- The reassessment cost is 50% of the initial fee.
8. Liability
- The OSA and Opticare Innovations hold no responsibility for the accuracy or authenticity of the evidence submitted by the participating companies.
- The evidence submitted must be true and accurate at the time of submission.
- The OSA and Opticare Innovations verify that requirements are being fulfilled but is not obligated to confirm each piece of evidence individually.
- The OSA and Opticare Innovations reserve the right to conduct spot audits for all members of the Green Charter to ensure compliance.
9. Updates to Terms and Conditions
The OSA reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions. Participants will be notified of any changes.
