The Green Charter has 5 distinct tiers designed to work for your size of business: Acorn, Leaf, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Keep reading to find out about the requirements for each Green Charter level and which one will be right for you.

Acorn and Leaf are specifically designed for small business like independent practices.

Acorn

Acorn is our entry level and ideal for small companies such as practices, service companies and start ups. This level is in line with Annex 3 for the NHS Evergreen. Participants will need to make a commitment to improvement and progress to Leaf within 2 years.

Leaf

Leaf is for companies who are progressing up from Acorn, or those who want to get a head start. Leaf is in line with Level 1 NHS Evergreen and has the additional requirement of participants providing self-assessed GHG reporting with your Scope 1 & 2 emissions.

Bronze

Bronze is for small to medium enterprises. At this stage it is expected that companies are making a commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2050 and also need to provide a validated Carbon Reduction Plan. There may be additional requirements depending on your business. Check our FAQs if you are already on the journey to Net Zero or are B-Corp certified.

Silver & Gold

Silver and Gold are for medium to large companies. You are likely to be on a Net Zero journey already, will already be providing high level reporting and depending on your business you may have additional requirements of achieving ISO14001 for environment management systems or ISO14855 if you are a plastics supplier. You will also need supplier evaluations and product lifecycle assessments in place. Check our FAQs if you are already on the journey to Net Zero or are B-Corp certified.
